How does Bellinzona move?

For the past 13 years, Lucia Gallucci has been Head of the Mobility Service of the City of Bellinzona, after working for the Canton in the environmental sector from 1991 to 2012. She was born in Como and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a degree in Transport Engineering and Planning.
She has always been passionate about mountains and uncrowded open spaces, perhaps in contrast with her studies related to traffic. However, a real turning point came when she realised that travelling by bicycle, instead of by car, allowed her to go much further… and this is how she developed projects and studies for the City aimed at increasing urban cycling—and, consequently, the number of cyclists.

Caring for frail older people: developing the expertise to recognise the complexities and look beyond the immediate

Anto Andrijanic, a nurse specialising in geriatrics and gerontology, tells us what it means to care for frail older people and how essential it is to specialise in order to ensure effective care for this type of patient, who requires attention, sensitivity and specific training. This is a commitment that should apply not only to those working strictly within the geriatric field, but to all professionals working in different contexts where the frailty of older people is nevertheless a constant presence.

A practical leadership workshop

Fabienne Cocchi, a nurse and head of internal training at the SCUDO home care service, shares her experience of the DAS in Healthcare Management. This programme goes beyond traditional training, offering enrichment on both a professional and personal level. It serves as a workshop for developing the core skills required of those in leadership roles within the healthcare sector, with a view to promoting the quality and sustainability of care.

Getting stuck in: at school and in the field

First, a Bachelor in Primary Education, completed in 2024, followed by a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Art Education in local schools. For Linda Bianchi, now a teacher of art, professional development is an ongoing process. Her career path has also involved numerous collaborations with the DFA/ASP, including workshops on curriculum planning and the management of mixed-age classes.

Marija Milosevic is a Nursing student at the Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care (DEASS) at SUPSI. She completed an international cooperation internship in Cambodia, in Phnom Penh, during the autumn semester 2025/2026.

Always passionate about scientific subjects, during this academic journey he discovered the world of energy, which fascinated him so much that he decided to continue with a Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Energy & Environment.

Anna, aged 25, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture from SUPSI, where she now works as an Assistant on the Bachelor's degree programme she completed. She also collaborates with the Institute of design, working on museography projects — an area in which she hopes to specialise

Training to be more aligned with who you are and what you want to convey

After 12 years of teaching in primary school, Jennifer Baldinger began a CAS Professional Practice Teaching (DPP) course in 2022. She embarked on this path to gain greater awareness and structure in a role she already enjoyed with enthusiasm: welcoming students in training, getting to know them, accompanying them in their first steps and offering them a safe space in which to experiment. Having completed her training in 2025, she now accompanies DFA/ASP students in their professional practice.

Francesca Amaddeo è avvocato e dottore di ricerca in Diritto dell’Unione europea e ordinamenti nazionali. Dal 2018 lavora presso il Centro competenze tributarie e giuridiche della SUPSI, dove oggi ricopre il ruolo di docente-ricercatrice. Dal 1. Gennaio 2025 è capoprogetto dell’Interreg dall’acronimo CROCSIT, Cross-border rules on commuters between Switzerland and Italy. Si tratta di un Progetto Interreg, finanziato nell’ambito della I finestra del bando Interreg Italia-Svizzera 2021-2027, ed avrà la durata di 24 mesi, terminando il 31 dicembre di quest’anno.

Leveraging data to improve schools

Miriam Salvisberg is a researcher at the Competence Centre for Innovation and Research on Education Systems (CIRSE). Together with her team, she collects and analyses the extensive data gathered from standardised tests, which are tools designed to improve the education system as a whole.

The world of architecture, step by step

Jennifer, 22, attended the Cantonal School of Commerce in Bellinzona and then decided to change direction, as design and construction had always intrigued her. Although she initially thought about studying Interior Architecture, she ultimately chose the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. She can’t wait to return to construction sites to see buildings take shape in real life, perhaps together with her three favorite classmates.

Ethan, 20, studied scenery painting at the CSIA-Centro scolastico per le industrie artistiche in Lugano and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Conservation at SUPSI. What is his dream? To travel the world with the curious eye of someone who seeks beauty everywhere, and then to settle down in Canada. He is certain that his manual and artistic skills, coupled with his passion, will open the right doors for him in the world of art.
